Sir / Madam,

Children’s Day, also known as ‘Bal Diwas’ is celebrated on 14th November every year on the birth anniversary of great leader of nation and first Prime Minister of India, Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru. He was very fond of children and he believed that children can only build a strong nation of the future. Apart from being a national leader of stature, he used to spend lot of time with small children. Children also loved him very much and he was fondly called “Chacha Nehru’.  Navodaya Vidyalayas have been named as ‘Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas’ in memory of this great statesman and visionary.

Since Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas are celebrating 25 year of their existence, Children’s day should be celebrated in all Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas very enthusiastically by organizing various cultural programmes.  All Principals may invite local MPs, District Magistrate, Parents, etc. and arrange for special meal during lunch time.
