NAVODAYA VIDYALAYA SAMITI

(An autonomous organization of Ministry of

(Department of School Education & Literacy),

A- 28, Kailash Colony, New Delhi - 110048

No. F.12-7/2010-NVS(Acad.)                                                      Dated :  22.12.2010

To,

The Principals

All Navodaya Vidyalayas

&

The Deputy Commissioners

Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiati

All Regional Offices.

Sir/Madam,

I am to refer to the Commissioner’s letter of even no. dated 19th Nov., 2011 regarding the Date-sheet for first Pre-Board and 2nd Pre-Board examination.  The first Pre-Board examination started in respect of Class XII from Dec. 20th onwards.  The Vidyalayas and Regional Offices would have received the letters pertaining to SAI results.  The SA-I result shows that 12% of students have got E-I and E-II grades which is alarming.  The rest of the students who have passed the test, have also not performed well.  On the whole, the result analysis shows that a number of students have been found weak in the subjects of Mathematics, Science and English.

A detailed academic planning has been issued in the Perspective Academic Plan and from time to time interaction has been made with the teachers, Principals and Asstt. Commissioners in order to help the students in identifying their particular difficulties and for taking effective steps to address their difficulties.  Inspite of these instructions, some of the Vidyalayas have failed in monitoring the performance due to which the students are not performing well and they are not confident on the entire syllabus of  Mathematics.  The Vidyalayas need to retrospect the students-wise and class-wise difficulties and action plan need to be made and executed.

In the first Pre-Board, the question wise analysis to be made for each student, class-wise and a consolidated data of difficulties to be made to address these difficulties for an improvement.  Once again, an opportunity to be given to these students  who are giving low performance so that they will improve for subsequent tests.  It is the best personal interaction of the teachers and Principals which will make a positive impact on the minds of the students so that they will improve in every test.

I am optimistic that every effort from our side will work in a right direction so that the students will improve and our ultimate aim is to see that no student of Navodaya from Class VI-XII  fails to achieve the target fixed by the Samiti i.e. 75% subject average.

The Vidyalaya will submit the result analysis  to the concerned Asstt. Commissioner, who will, in turn, consolidate the same and send to me with his specific remarks for improvement as well as expected performance in 2010-11.

Yours faithfully

(TCS Naidu)

Joint Commissioner(Acad.)
