 Sir/Madam,

             You are aware National Bal Bhawan is a creativity resource center which aims at enhancing the creative abilities of children by providing them with numerous activities and opportunities for expression. National Bal Bhawan is planning to organize a workshop on visual arts for Navodaya Vidyalaya Teachers from 24th May to 13th June, 2005. The objective of the workshop are as follows:-

  1. To provide a common platform to subject teachers Art/Craft teachers and performing art teacher who otherwise work in isolation in the school system for translating difficult concepts of education into activity oriented presentations so that learning becomes joyful experience.

  2. To provide joy of teaching to teachers so that in turn children are benefited.

  3. To fully involve children in the teaching process so that they do not merely remain passive listerners but fully contribute in various educational projects under taken by the group of teachers (special art/craft and performing art).

  4. To make full use of visual media in educational projects.

  5. To lay the participants discover and invent innovative ways of presentation.

  6. To create aesthetic awareness and provide opportunity to give expression to creativity.

  7. To help the participants in supplementing the school curriculum through innovative ways of expression.

  8. To make the participants realize that integration of various subjects can be very meaningful and see to be understood by the child if done in a creativity way.

  9. To acquaint the participants with the traditional and culture heritage of our country and lay them find the ways of carrying the past to the future.

         The workshop of visual Art would cover all the visual medium i.e., different forms of performing Art, Creative Art and other creative expressions like Creative Writing, Production of print material, audio-visual etc. There would be an integration of all the visual forms alongwith and interaction of participants from this workshop would be from different parts of the country having diverse culture and background, there would be a meaningful interaction between them. This would not only enable them to know the rich cultural heritage we possess but also make them aware of the potential of it for an overall development of the child’s personality.

     You are requested to take following action immediately:-

     Regional Office will have to identify 7 Vidyalayas of the region and send the names to the Samiti with a copy to Bal Bhawan by selecting 3 teachers (one subject teacher, one music teacher, one art teacher) from the same school which is a necessary condition.  In this way, one region will be sending 21 participants.

  1. The Regional Office will intimate the Principals and teachers so selected immediately so that there should not be any communication gap as the programme is schedule during vacation period.

  2. Regional Office will select the participants on the basis of potential required for this workshop.

Sub:    Training of Teachers under “Green School Programme” – regarding.

 

Sir/Madam,

 

            You are aware that it was decided to procure five copies of the manual “Green School Programme” to all JNVs under Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti for encouraging the students who learn about the environment and auditing the resources which might have received by now.

 

            To accelerate the process further in this respect, it has now been decided in consultation with Ms. Sunita Narayan, Coordinator CSE to conduct three days training programme for our teachers’ w.e.f. 12th May to 14th May, 2005 at JNV Faridabad.

 

            In view of the above, you are requested to identify four teachers (PGTs) from each region so that batch of 32 participants may be available as Master Trainers in this regard. These teachers so trained will further undertake training at Regional Office level. While selecting the teachers, you may kindly keep the following in view:-

-    A teacher so selected should have good communication skills

-    A teacher should have sufficient potential to implement the programme effectively.

 

            Since it is a prestigious programme of the Samiti, you have to ensure the attendance from your region. The names of the teachers so selected may be forwarded to the Principal, JNV, Faridabad under intimation to Samiti immediately.

          As decided before having the programe in Navodaya Vidyalayas the Principals of these 20 Vidyalayas (list enclosed) has to undergo a training programme at Kaivalya Dhama Lonawala for an Orientation Workshop for two days on 27th & 28th May, 2005.  It is only after the workshop of Principals, the implementation of Programme may be more useful to these 20 vidyalayas where the Trainers & coordinators will be deputed by Kaivalya Dhama w.e.f. July, 2005 onwards.  You are as such requested to direct your Principal as per list enclosed to attend the same.
